Visit the fish market Bergen has some of the best fish restaurants in Norway, helped by a great fish market. Even if your not into your fish a stroll through the market is still great fun!
-
Lunch overlooking the harbour There are so many nice restaurants around the fish market its hard to choose just one. There is every type of food available. A great restaurant is based next to the tourist information centre. It offers everything from fresh fish, to pizzas.

The Fjords Bergen is called the gateway to the fjords. The fjords are larger and more beautiful than I ever really expected. If you don’t have a chance to take an extended cruise, then a half day cruise will still let you see the towering cliffs and breathtaking mountains. A fjord tour with the White Lady lasts 4 hours and leaves from the fish market.

An evening run or walk As well as a beautiful waterfront, Bergen has a stunning city centre lake. Museums, galleries and restaurants surround the lake. In the evening you will find the locals on their evening runs around the lake. The Norwegians love the outdoors and their fitness. Its fun to join them, but difficult to keep up.

Roadtrip There are some great driving roads around Bergen. Its certainly worth a day rental to see the surrounding country side.
