The Bowery Hotel I would stay at The Bowery Hotel. It is my favourite hotel in the world and the staff are all so lovely. Downstairs, the communal areas are like a scene from a Dylan Thomas poem or something. It feels warm and inspiring, and the rooms are so well turned out. The views if you get a corner room are really cool and it’s a great location.

East Village I would take a walk down all the avenues in the East Village. There are some wonderful little vintage shops and boutiques there. It has a really vibrant atmosphere and you can just walk around there for hours. I did pass an Indian restaurant in that area once that was FILLED with more fairy lights than I've ever seen and just stood outside gawping incredulously, but I can't remember what the place was called.

Zaitzeff Burgers Close by, I'd stop for lunch at Zaitzeff Burgers (for the best beef burger I have ever eaten in my life) on Avenue B. You have to have the Kobe beef burger, rare. It literally melts in your mouth. I can't believe it exists, to be quite honest. It’s MINDBLOWING. You have to ignore the decor and stuff, because its not the most glamorous of surroundings but it’s definitely glamour for the tastebuds, I can assure you.

Guggenheim Museum Then I would go to the Guggenheim museum. Not only is it a stunning building but I first arrived there because I am a massive fan of Matthew Barney. He's a contemporary artist and he made one of his Cremaster Cycle films in there. When there is a great exhibition on it’s even better, but the building alone is really worth the trip. Its like a trip in to the future or an Escher drawing. It seems like you could get stuck walking round it perpetually and never get out.

Raoul’s I would go for dinner at Raoul’s in Prince Street. It’s a really cool, slightly eccentric French restaurant. I think you could eat anything there and it would be wonderful – and the waiters are all French. It all looks a bit cobbled together and there is a palm reader sitting near the toilets in case you fancy finding out what your future holds while you’re there.
